Family Office Introductions in Dubai: Your File, in Front of the Right Principal

Family office introductions in Dubai work when a prepared file reaches the right principal at the right time. I prepare your file, qualify fit against what each family office actually invests in, and introduce you to principals after an engagement letter and NCNDA are signed.

Why Dubai has become a family office hub

Dubai is one of the world's fastest-growing centres for private wealth. The Dubai International Financial Centre reported that at the end of 2025 it was home to 1,289 family-related entities, up 61% in a year, with DIFC-based families establishing 1,115 foundations, up 66%, and more than 500 wealth and asset management firms, up 22%. The UAE was also expected to see a net inflow of 9,800 millionaires in 2025, the highest of any country, according to the Henley & Partners Private Wealth Migration Report.

That concentration is an opportunity for founders and project sponsors. It also means family offices receive more proposals than ever, and most never get read.

What I do

  1. Prepare the file. A clear summary, the structure, the numbers, the team and the ask, organized the way a principal reads it. If the file is not ready, we fix it before anyone sees it.
  2. Qualify fit. Sector, stage, ticket size, geography, structure and timeline, matched against what each family office actually invests in, not what it once announced.
  3. Introduce principals. Introductions to principals and family offices, made personally and only once the file and the fit are right.
  4. Coordinate follow-through. Meeting preparation, questions and answers, and hand-off to your lawyers and to licensed firms for any regulated activity.

Three rules that protect your deal

These are the Laws of the Desk, and they are not negotiable:

  • Law I: Relationships are the asset. I protect the trust of every principal I introduce you to, which is why I qualify before I introduce.
  • Law II: Engagement first. An engagement letter and NCNDA are signed before the first introduction. No exceptions, for either side's protection.
  • Law III: Coordinator, never custodian. I coordinate the process. I never hold client funds. Money moves only between the parties, through their banks and licensed firms.
Relationships are the asset. Signatures are the proof.

How Gulf family offices evaluate deals

From the files I have taken into the room, Gulf family offices look at a deal in roughly this order:

What they assessWhat they want to seeWhat ends the conversation
The principalA sponsor with a track record and skin in the gameNo history, or an intermediary who cannot name the decision-maker
Strategic fitLinks to the family's existing businesses or long-term themesA sector the family has no reason to own
StructureClear governance, reporting and protection for minority holdersVague terms or a structure that cannot be explained on one page
DownsideHonest risks and a credible plan if things go wrongProjections with no downside case
RelationshipA warm, credible introduction and patience on timingCold mass emails and pressure to decide quickly

Raise capital from Middle East investors: what to prepare

If your goal is to raise capital from Middle East investors, the work starts long before an introduction. Prepare a two-page summary, a model with a downside case, a clear use of funds, a governance outline and a data room your counsel has reviewed. Any offering of securities is handled by appropriately licensed firms. My role is to make sure your file is ready, the fit is real and the right principals see it.

Gulf capital and Canada

The Canada and UAE corridor is one of the most active I work in. In November 2025, the UAE committed to invest USD 50 billion in Canada and the two countries signed a Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement. In October 2026 they signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, expected to enter into force in 2027. I run WeOpen.ca (26 Canada and UAE initiatives) and a proposed Canada and UAE bilateral pipeline. More on the Canada and UAE page.

Two things most advisers have one of: the network and the structure.

He knows the family offices, the bankers and the operators, and he arrives with the investor map, the terms and the governance already drafted.

Frequently asked questions

How do family office introductions in Dubai work?

With me, the process has four steps. I prepare your file so a principal can read it quickly, qualify fit against what each family office actually invests in, make individual introductions to principals once an engagement letter and NCNDA are signed, and coordinate follow-through. Any regulated activity is handled by appropriately licensed firms.

Do you raise capital or guarantee funding?

No. I provide strategic advisory and introductions only. I do not raise capital, broker securities, manage money or guarantee funding, and I do not give investment, legal or tax advice. My role is to make your file ready, confirm genuine fit and introduce you to the right principals. Decisions and any regulated activity sit with the parties and licensed firms.

How do Gulf family offices evaluate deals?

In my experience they look first at the principal: track record and personal commitment. Then strategic fit with the family's existing businesses, a clear structure with governance and reporting, an honest downside case, and the quality of the introduction. Cold mass emails and pressure to decide quickly usually end the conversation before it starts.

Why do you require an engagement letter and NCNDA first?

It is Law II of the Laws of the Desk: engagement first. The engagement letter sets out exactly what I will and will not do, and the NCNDA protects both your information and the relationships I introduce. Signing both before the first introduction protects everyone and filters out parties who are not serious.

Do you hold investor or client funds?

Never. Law III of the Laws of the Desk is coordinator, never custodian. I coordinate the process, but money moves only between the parties, through their own banks and appropriately licensed firms. If anyone asks you to send funds through an intermediary to secure an introduction, treat that as a warning sign.

Can you introduce Canadian companies to Gulf investors?

Yes, where there is genuine fit. Canada and the UAE are one of my core corridors: the UAE committed to invest USD 50 billion in Canada in November 2025, and the two countries signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in October 2026. The same rules apply: prepared file, qualified fit, engagement letter and NCNDA first.
