Executive workshop · Dubai, Toronto, in-house

Learn how deals actually close, on real deals, in one day.

The Deal Architect Executive Workshop teaches founders and executives how to structure, negotiate and close joint ventures, funding rounds and large sales. Not theory: live simulations and your own deals, taken apart and rebuilt in the room.

Why this workshop

Most workshops tell you what to do. This one shows you how, when, with whom, and what to do when it goes wrong.

The hard part of a big deal is rarely finding the opportunity. It is everything between the first meeting and the signature: the wrong person in the room, a mandate nobody wrote down, a partner who wants control, an investor who wants a guarantee.

I built this workshop from deals I have structured across real estate, technology, healthcare, capital and trade, in the US, Canada, the UAE, India and Africa. Every exercise starts from a real situation and asks the questions that decide whether it closes.

Adnan Feroz · The Deal Architect

The three deals

Every deal is one of three. You leave able to build all of them.

Joint venturesPeople + strategy + executionTwo companies want to work together and neither wants to invest first. Who contributes what, how equity is set, and who controls execution.
FundingPeople + capital + executionA company needs USD 10 million with limited collateral. How to judge investment readiness, what alternatives exist and how to make it investable.
SalesPeople + product + strategy + closeYou can reach a billion-dollar project but the product is not ready. How to create commercial value without misrepresenting what can be delivered.

The day

Six sessions, built around the method in the book.

The workshop runs on The Deal Architect method: become, connect, protect, structure and negotiate, close. About 40% method, 60% practice.

  1. 01

    The anatomy of a deal

    45 min

Who signs, who influences, who gets paid and where the money really flows. The map every session after this one uses.

  2. 02

Joint ventures: people + strategy + execution

    60 min

Find the complementary partner, decide who contributes what, set equity and control, and write down who executes.

  3. 03

Funding: people + capital + execution

    60 min

Make an opportunity investable, choose the right kind of capital, and structure terms an investor will actually consider.

  4. 04

Sales: people + product + strategy + close

    60 min

Take a high-value opportunity from introduction to signature without promising what cannot be delivered.

  5. 05

Why deals fail, and how to rescue them

    60 min

Middlemen, unclear mandates, numbers that do not match, silence after the meeting. The obstacles, and what to do about each.

  6. 06

    Live deal architecture

    75 min

Participants bring real deals. We take three apart in the room and rebuild them: opportunity, people, missing pieces, structure, obstacles, execution, close.

The live simulation

A landowner, a contractor and an investor walk into a deal.

A developer owns land worth USD 55 million but cannot fund the build. A contractor can execute but wants guaranteed payments. An investor has USD 27 million and wants control. Groups negotiate, the brief changes halfway through, and you restructure until it works for everyone. Then I show how I would approach it, and why.

What you take home

Seven questions you will ask on every deal from now on.

  1. 1The opportunity. What is the transaction, in one sentence?
  2. 2The people. Who must be involved, and who signs?
  3. 3The missing pieces. What is stopping progress today?
  4. 4The structure. How should it be organised so every party says yes?
  5. 5The obstacles. What could make it collapse?
  6. 6The execution. What happens next, by whom, by when?
  7. 7The close. What does a successful outcome look like on paper?

Before you decide

Questions about the workshop.

Who should attend?

Founders, CEOs, business owners, investors, business development directors and consultants working on transactions from USD 1M to USD 100M and above.

Is it lectures or practice?

About 40% method and 60% practice. You negotiate in groups, the brief changes halfway through, and you restructure the deal before I show how I would approach it.

Can I bring my own deal?

Yes. Send a one-paragraph outline when you register. Three are chosen for the live session; everyone gets the seven-question worksheet to run on their own.

Is my deal kept confidential?

Yes. Cases used in the room are anonymised, and the participant list is shared only with attendees.

Do you run it in-house?

Yes. The private corporate workshop is built around your company and your live deals, in Dubai, Toronto or at your office.

What happens after the workshop?

A 30-day follow-up call for the group. If you want me on your deal, the 90-day advisory seat starts with the 15-minute fit call.

One day in the room can save a year on the deal.
